Norton Family is a parental control service that helps adults keep an eye on their kids' device and internet use. I worked with their global product and engineering teams to redesign the product across all platforms — Android, iOS, Mac, Windows, and the web.

New features (like emergency calling) were added, but our major goal was to streamline a complex setup for families new to the product. I focused on designing a new onboarding experience and created updated illustration and visual design for the apps. As we worked on the relaunch, I built and mentored a small team of designers to expand the Norton Family redesign, and worked with the rest of the consumer design org to extend the new UI guidelines to other products in the Norton brand.

The redesign was well-received by parents as well as Symantec's global partners: as part of the relaunch, the new app was included on new Android phones from carriers like T-Mobile and Orange.

John's the type of team player that helps you understand a problem that needs to be solved, and he challenges himself and others in UX with fun ideas to really grow one another. If there's one guy that truly understands the scope of a project and delivers a high quality product, it would be John.
